Isolation

Ms. Spicy

With everything in life that we do, there is a root cause to it. We don't judge stumble into things believe it or not. It may start with a thought...a life changing situation...our upbringing...heartbreak etc. Many things can contribute to how we are shaped and molded into who we are. As a child, I was left home alone a lot and as the years progressed, I developed an unhealthy close relationship with isolation. As bubbly as my personality is, I absolutely LOVE to be left alone. Although, there are times where isolation is necessary to gather yourself, I made it my resting place in life. It became my comfort zone, a high place that I hated to come down from. I am one of those people that need to recharge after being around many people for long periods of time. However, I used that as excuse to stay in my bubble. Every year my family and I fast for 21 days and use that time to draw nearer to God and seek instruction for the next season of our lives. During this time, I always ask God to reveal any and everything that I need to get rid of. When he challenged me with releasing the Spirit of Isolation, I knew it was time but wasn't necessarily ready for it. What I didn't realize was that since a child, it was my safe space because it became my normal was of coping with things. As much as, I love to communicate and settles issues quickly, I love my space and time to think equally as much. In my quest to further understand why God didn't want me in a place of isolation, he brought me to the scriptures below. Proverbs 18:1 Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all judgement." Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them fall down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.....A cord of three strands is no quickly broken." Genesis 2:18 "The Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." Proverbs 27:17 "As Iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." After reading and understanding each scripture, I was like "Okkkkkk God....I get it." lol All jokes aside, I am forever grateful that God keep chasing after me and lovingly correcting me back into his safety net. To the person reading this who find themselves in love with isolation, I am so sorry to break the news to you, but it is time to release it. We were not made to do life alone. I released it and made a VOW to never pick it back up again! Neither should you! Here is the link to a sermon titled "Orphans by Bishop S.Y. Younger". (39) Orphans | Bishop S. Y.
